Is the Flu Shot Worth it?

  1. Flu vaccines, according to the best scientific evidence available today, will only work against 10% of the circulating viruses that cause the symptoms of seasonal epidemic influenza. Additionally, flu vaccines have been found to elicit inflammatory reactions that may harm the human heart, the developing fetus, and the fragile immune systems of our infants. So, do the theoretical benefits really outweigh the known harms?
  2. The reality is that vaccines not only do not work as advertised, but they represent a significant health threat, likely on the same order of magnitude as influenza itself, due to their well-known role in compromising immunological self-tolerance (autoimmunity), as well as by eliciting a wide range of adverse health effects associated with the use of adjuvants, preservatives, foreign animal DNA and cell byproducts, adventitious viruses, and other so-called “inactive ingredients,” including even the unnatural route and method of antigen administration itself.[i]
  3. Over 200 viruses cause influenza and influenza-like illness which produce the same symptoms (fever, headache, aches and pains, cough and runny noses). Without laboratory tests, doctors cannot tell the two illnesses apart. Both last for days and rarely lead to death or serious illness. At best, vaccines might be effective against only Influenza A and B, which represent about 10% of all circulating viruses.” (Source: Cochrane Summaries).

Flu Vaccines Found To Increase Heart Attack Risk

A concerning study published in 2011 in the International Journal of Medicine revealed a fact rarely addressed by conventional health authorities, or the mostly uncritical mainstream media, namely: flu vaccines result in inflammatory cardiovascular changes indicative of increased risk for serious heart-related events such as heart attack.[ii]

The Vitamin D2 Supplement Your Medical Doctor is Prescribing Raises Your Death Rate by 2%!

December 2, 2011

The Vitamin D2 Supplement Your Medical Doctor is Prescribing Raises Your Death Rate by 2%!

Story at-a-glance straight from

  •  A meta-analysis of 50 trials looking at mortality rates for “doctor recommended” synthetic vitamin D2 supplements versus natural vitamin D3 shows a six percent risk reduction among those who used D3, compared to a two percent increased risk among those who used D2
  • Research shows vitamin D3 is approximately 87 percent more potent in raising and maintaining vitamin D concentrations and produces 2- to 3-fold greater storage of vitamin D than does D2. D3 is also converted into its active form 500 percent faster
  • Optimizing your vitamin D levels may be one of the most important steps you can take in support of your long-term health. The ideal way to do this is by exposing large amounts of skin to sunlight or a safe tanning bed, but if you need to use an oral supplement, make sure you’re taking vitamin D3
  • The most important factor is your vitamin D serum level, which should ideally be between 50-70 ng/ml. When taking an oral vitamin D supplement, you should take enough to reach and maintain this therapeutic level. As a generic guideline, adults need to take about 8,000 IU’s a day to reach this level

Dr. Noah’s summary

In a meta- analysis of a total of 94,000 participants showed that people who used Vitamin D3 had a 6% risk reduction in death while  people who used Vitamin D2 (Drisdol) had a 2% increase in mortality!

So why do Medical Doctors still prescribe this form of Vit. D that increases your risk of death! There are two reasons; 1. They are puppets to the Pharmaceutical Companies and 2. They are unfortunately unconsciously incompetent.

For the past 3 years in every lecture that I have done I have disparaged this form of Vit. D! The form you want to take is Vit. D3 (cholecalciferol) and the form you want to stay away from is Vit. D2 (ergocalciferol).

My family’s intake of Vit. D3 is; Wife – approximately 3,500ius a day, my children – approximately 1,000ius a day, and I take approximately 5,000ius a day!

It is my belief that these levels are very very safe and likely too little! I highly suggest that you get your Vit. D3 levels tested each and every time you get your blood work tested at your primary! If you want to do your own testing or simply just don’t see your primary that often go to and this site will list how you can do this in addition to countless research articles on the benefits of Vit. D!

We carry three forms of Vit. D3 at the office all from Anabolic Labs;  Mega D 1,000, Clinical D 5,000, and Vit. D3K2 2,000 (my favorite because of the addition of K2 a critical bone health and anticancer nutrient).

Please keep in mind the best way to get Vit. D is from the sun, the second best is a safe tanning bed, and the third is from supplementation.  For more information about this check out .

What does Cholesterol have to do with Chiropractic?

November 14, 2011

What does Cholesterol have to do with Chiropractic?

A government panel suggests screening kids in grade school as early as age 9 for high cholesterol. What angle should we take, hmmm!  Let’s look at high cholesterol itself.  High cholesterol is merely a symptom of an unhealthy circulatory system. If you eat processed foods, ingest an excess of trans fatty acids, a lack of omega 3 fatty acids, and do not exercise among other things it is likely over time that your cholesterol levels will raise into the supposed unhealthy range above 200! The excess cholesterol in your blood is the innate wisdom of your body trying to protect itself from the assault of your poor lifestyle choices. Cholesterol medications like Lipitor reduce your overall numbers but do not get to the real cause of the raised levels which is as mentioned above, poor lifestyle choices. So you reduce your overall cholesterol without changing your diet, exercising, or reducing your overall stress levels, a recipe for disaster!

Let’s compare this to a common Chiropractic case in any Chiropractor’s office.  A new patient comes into the office with awful migraine headaches.  She/he goes to the medical doctor and he gives this person a medication or two, maybe suggests a CT-Scan of the brain and sends this person on their way; once again treating the symptom of tremendous pain rather than getting to the cause of the headache.  The cause of the headache is likely a vertebral subluxation / misalignment in the cervical spine (neck) of this patient that is interfering with normal nerve flow causing the headache.  Remove the subluxation by a specific Chiropractic adjustment and teach the patient how not to recreate this situation and the headache is no longer a problem for this person. To summarize, both the pain of the headache and the raised cholesterol levels are both symptoms not the actual cause.  Remove the cause, poor lifestyle choices and vertebral subluxation, and eliminate the problem properly and correctly without having to introduce dangerous chemicals into the body of this patient.

What is the real underlying reason to screen grade school children?  I suspect it is to open up a whole new market for the drug companies and medical doctors to prescribe one of the biggest selling class of drugs of all time; statins!  Does anybody think for a second what this will do to our children! Cholesterol is a critical hormone that is needed by the body to create other hormones like testosterone. Not to mention we know that all statin drugs deplete the body of CoQ10 and critical nutrient for heart and muscle tissue as well as a potent antioxidant. The repercussions here are so vast I could write a novel.

Yes, I know a small percentage of people have hypercholesterolemia.  You might be able to persuade me to think this SMALL population should get tested.  This is the only people who may need to take a cholesterol lowering drug; all others can do this with proper lifestyle choices, including Chiropractic!

As an interesting side note there was just a case study in the Journal for Vertebral Subluxation Research, where a person’s cholesterol levels where reduced with specific Chiropractic care.  When a person’s nervous system is clear and tension is removed from the neuromuscular system of the human body all miracles are possible!

Getting back to the original question; what does Cholesterol have to Chiropractic? Other then the first two letters being the same it comes down to whether you choose to treat symptoms or to correct the cause of the problem.  It is my belief that correcting the cause is the only viable option when talking about the health of an individual! Removing the subluxation, the likely cause of the headache or low back pain is the same as reducing cholesterol through proper nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction.  Chiropractors by nature are and always have been Doctors of Cause!

Your health is your most valuable asset! Treat it so! Have your spine checked and adjusted on a regular basis and adjust your lifestyle appropriately to create the best you possible.

My Patients, Friends, and Family Need to Know: Fewer ‘meds’ = Better Health!

September 10, 2011

For a long time, people believed they could get healthy by taking medicines. Yet, in recent years there’s been a lot of publicity about the dangers of prescription and over-the-counter drugs. The result is a trend away from medicines and toward natural health care. Sadly, however, many people still take far too many pills.

In fact, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation, prescription drug usage in the United States is continuing to rise. A recent report finds the number of prescriptions filled each year increased by 39% between 1999 and 2009, and the amount of money spent was $234 billion in 2008. The average American fills 12 prescriptions each year!

It shouldn’t be this way, according to a new research study that concluded both lives and money would be saved if medical doctors prescribed FEW drugs. What’s surprising is that the research was conducted at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy! The report appeared in the online edition of the Archives of Internal Medicine as part of that journal’s “Less is More” series.

According to Bruce Lambert, the paper’s co-author and UIC professor of pharmacy administration, several studies over the past decade have concluded that the use of many new and frequently prescribed medications was either harmful or not beneficial to patients.

Medical doctors need to move away from the mindset that they need to prescribe the “latest and greatest” new drugs. Instead, they should prescribe fewer and only time-tested medications, said Dr. Gordon Schiff, associate professor of medicine at Harvard University, who co-authored the report.

The top “principle of conservative prescribing” suggested by the researchers is one that doctors of chiropractic already practice: The report urged people and their doctors to: “Consider non-drug therapies such as diet, exercise or physical therapy; look for and treat underlying causes rather than just mask symptoms with drugs; emphasize prevention rather than treatment.”

Another research project, this one conducted in Great Britain and published by the British Medical Journal, found that general practitioners prescribed high-risk medications for thousands of patients who – because of their health history or status – should never have received them.

Researchers pointed out how improper prescribing can cause considerable harm, and noted that “adverse drug events [negative side effects] account for 6.5% of all hospital admissions, over half of which are judged to be preventable.”

Dr. Russ Altman, a professor of bioengineering, genetics and medicine at Stanford University said, “Many side effects from drug interactions (not all) are exacerbations of known side effects of the single drugs that are made worse by the two drugs together.” Dr. Altman co-authored a study in the journal Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics that found a widely prescribed antidepressant used in conjunction with a common cholesterol-lowering medication caused unexpected increases in blood sugar levels.

When it comes to prescription and over-the-counter drugs, the medical journal’s right – less IS more!
